Who are we?

The Nordic Association for the Sociology of Religion (NASR) was established in June 2021.

The objective of NASR is to promote sociology of religion research and education and stimulate networking and cooperation between sociologists of religion in the Nordic countries.

NASR has two main activities:

  • Coordinating the organization of the biannual Nordic conference for the Sociology of Religion (NCSR)
  • Supporting the work of the Nordic Journal of Religion and Society (NJRS) 

NASR may in addition take other research or education initiatives to promote the objectives of the association.

The board of NASR consists of a chairperson and one representative for each of the Nordic countries.
